SPM 5000이라는 거물 앰프를 팔려고 하는데, 가격이 너무 높아서 그런지 문의도 없습니다. 하긴 큰 돈을 주고 사기에는 단종된 제품이라 부담이 되기도 하죠.

장터에서 팔려던 가격을 달러로 환산하면 겨우(?) 8,000달러 밖에 안 하니까 오디오곤을 통해 외국에 다시 파는 것이 오히려 나을 듯 합니다. 약 1년 전에 12,000달러(송료+관세 별도) 주고 들여온 것인데...

이번 주에 올려보고 반응을 봐야겠습니다. 외국도 불경기라 관심이 없으면 책상밑에 준중형차 한 대 놓고 산다고 생각해야죠.



웹 검색을 해보니 몇 군데에서만 나오는군요. 아마도 Chord 초창기 모델이어서 그렇지 않은가 합니다. 그 당시에 22,000 달러에 판매되던 것이군요.



I expected a speaker with so much obvious woof to sound overly authoritative, but the sound was robust yet delicate. The Chord electronics in evidence in the room included the SPM 5000 amp (£14,570) driving the woofers, the SPM 1200C (£3790) on the mids and highs, the CPA 3200 preamplifier (£3785), and the 24-bit DSC 1500 DAC (£4135), fed by a Wadia 6 transport.



The charming folks from England's Chord and British Columbia's Bluebird Music celebrated their partnership with the monster-sized Chord SPM 5000 amplifier ($22,000.00) and the fine Living Voice Avatar OBX (for outboard crossover) loudspeakers (£4000.00). The speakers, while not my regular cup of tea, interpreted the bits from the Burmester sampler with ease and grace. British understatement, slightly. I would like to hear these speakers in my setup. They have received several excellent notices in the English press.
