새로이 이리저리 판을 새로 짜면서 튜너에 대한 새로운 관심이 하나 더 생겼습니다.
60년대부터 근래에 이르기까지 여러가지 모양새와 기술력으로 튜너가 발전되어 왔으나 근래의 고급튜너를 들어보지 못한 제 막귀로서는 7~80년대의 아날로그 튜너들의 소리가 훨씬 정감이 가네요..
다른 오디오 기기들과는 달리 일이십만원 정도의 저렴한(?) 가격으로 이런저런 음질을 경험해 볼 수 있다는 또 다른 기쁨이기도 하더군요..
현재 사용하고 있는 튜너인 파이오니어 TX-9500 II와 오늘 회원님의 댁에 가서 충동적으로 구입한 켄우드 KT-1100 튜너를 소개합니다.
가벼운 마음으로 구경하세요..
먼저 파이오니어 TX-9500 II 튜너입니다.
발매는 1977년도, 당시 판매가 400불, 5륜(gang)방식의 튜너입니다.
기기의 무게도 한무게하고 다이얼의 감촉도 묵직한 넘이 불꺼놓고 음악을 듣고있노라면 몽롱해지는 느낌입니다.

이번엔 충동구매한 켄우드 KT-1100 튜너입니다.
꼭 한번 들어보고 싶은 켄우드 튜너의 명기인 L-02T의 미니급 디자인에 그 기술적 노하우도 포함되어 있지 않을까 해서 덥썩 들고왔습니다.
발매는 1983년도, 역시 5륜튜닝 방식이며 4개의 필터를 사용한다고 합니다.
위의 9500II나 1100과 같은 튜너들도 개조를 한다고 인터넷에서 봤는데.. 혹시 해보신 경험 있으신 분 계신지 모르겠습니다.
이 녀석은 튜닝방식은 아날로그이지만 주파수가 디지탈로 표시되는 특이한 방식입니다. 매그넘 에튜드나 쿼드 FM4류의 튜너도 이러한 방식이죠..
감도는 아주 예민하지만 일단 주파수를 잡고 Servo-Lock이 동작하면 잘 빠진 소리를 내줍니다.
스위치류의 접사사진입니다. FM RF SEL(Normal, Direct)와 밑의 Mute Level의 정확한 용도는 모르겠네요.. level을 높이면 주파수 감도가 다소 떨어지네요.
여기있는 FM REC CAL 스위치의 용도도 아리송하고요..
혹시 아시는 분 계시면 알려주세요 ^^;
시그널메터와 튜닝메터입니다. 그 옆의 Servo Lock LED는 일단 주파수가 스테레오로 잡히면 그 주파수를 안정적으로 유지해 주는 기능인것 같습니다.
프롤로그 200i의 검은색 판넬과 잘 어울리지요?
2대를 함께 프롤로그에 연결하여 비교테스트도 해 보았는데..
우열을 가리기 힘들더군요.
풍성한 맛은 9500이 다소 앞서고, 스테레오의 분리도 및 해상도는 1100이 앞서는 느낌입니다.
당분간 이 녀석들 듣는 재미가 쏠쏠할 것 같네요..

61: Kenwood KT-7500 - Flat soundstage, better sound can be found. One-note bass. More boring than unpleasant in a long listening session.
62: Kyocera T-910 - Pleasant sound, but what's that ringing in my ears?
63: SAE 8000 - Not irritating but not involving, either. Too much background noise.
64: Kenwood KT-815 - Bass thin, treble forward. It cries out for a new audio stage.
65: Denon TU-600 - Good sound, but not recommended because of reception problems.
